Frederick Douglass contributed to the the abolishment of slavery and changed abolitionism in many different ways.  He used his eloquence and the experience he had as a slave to speak to his audience and his ability to do so was truely revolutionary,  The reaction he got from his audience as well as other abolitionists including William Lloyd Garrison, helped him succeed in abolishing slavery.  Finally, the end of slavery came after many years, and it showed the country that what Douglass was fighting for was very possible.
