How abolitionism was reformed by Frederick Douglass.

As Frederick Douglass' popularity grew within the abolitionists, he began funding his own newspaper that reached out to abolitionists and slaveholders as well.


Reform:

  • Slavery had finally ended in 1856, two years after the Empancipation Proclamation.
  • Frederick Douglass won the hearts of many people with his speeches and his abolition reform.
  • Many people found Frederick Douglass was one of the only abolitionist that spoke to his audience with a gentle voice but a powerful message.
  • Many abolitionists looked up to him and saw his an inspiration and moral leader.
  • With the Civil war and Slavery behind them, people couldn't help but give some credit to the man who worked his whole adult life trying to reveal the evils of slavery.
